Auction plays an important role as a disposal strategy utilised by our Asset Management and Investment services teams. Since the team’s inception in April 2002, Knight Frank has overseen some 60 auctions and disposed of over 3,300 properties in Hong Kong. For the auction of most mass residential properties we work with small specialist auctioneers who have locally based resources to facilitate open houses. For property auctions of high value properties and where auctions must be conducted in both English and Chinese, we use our in-house resources exclusively.
Our experience in the marketing and management of the auction process gives us unique insight into the challenges of changing market conditions. Knight Frank has realised a total consideration of over HK$5 billion for clients through auction sales on instruction from the Lands Tribunal or held on behalf of the mortgagee in possession, owners and liquidators..

In addition, we were appointed to conduct the public auction of No 181 Hoi Bun Road held on 30 January 2007. The property was sold as sole sales agent for a record price of HK$345 million.
